My work is essentially an extension of my profession as an anthropologist. Whether landscape, street photography, or experimental, it is all still ethnography. The aesthetic is influenced by my history as a theatre lighting designer. For Yugen, the landscape gave me a feeling of awe. I was drawn to the juxtaposition of the enormity of our immediate universe, and the tiny infinities of its component life. I hope that the image offers a space for contemplation.
Recent exhibition includes the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art (LACDA); the Chania International Photography Festival, Crete; Blank Wall Gallery, Athens, Greece; NYC4PA/Jadite Gallery, New York City; and Grey Cube Gallery, Finland (online).
