Much of my work centers around isolation and loneliness, and the anxiety and depression that that can bring. Being transgender and mixed race, I often feel like a grey area in a world where many people only choose to see black or white. For most of my life, drawing has been a way for me to cope with feelings of not belonging, and it has been key to me having any sort of mental stability.

I am happy to say that I am doing better now. I am also happy to see some of the stigma around discussing mental health topics dissolve, even if we still do have a long way to go. Holding in feelings of guilt or shame for having poor mental health could make things worse. If you ever just need someone to talk to, feel free to get in touch! I am not a qualified mental health professional, but I would be more than happy to listen. //
