Anna Walsh is a British artist who lives London. She grew up in Kilburn, London then moved to Kidderminster in the West Midlands aged 10. She studied Fine Art at Cardiff, returning to London to study MA Book Arts at Camberwell College, graduating 2001, and has been in South East London ever since.
She is a founding member of Garudio Studiage, an art collective who combine design, art and fashion with a pronounced sense of humour and irony, whom make products for sale and work on collaborative projects. Her individual practice combines traditional drawing skills with digital design and appropriates natural history illustration to convey the themes she explores of anthrozoology (interactions between humans and other animals). She blends languages of science and art to create intricate maps, diagrams, and charts that invite the viewer to take a closer look and find subtle subversions, often with a humorous undertone.
